Portland rising tide
Portland Rising Tide is committed to social and environmental justice. We are an all-volunteer organization with horizontal leadership, organized to take direct action to confront the root causes of climate change. We do not believe that the dominant, business friendly means of addressing climate change will prevent catastrophic global warming. Power-hungry politicians and an economy based on money making and careless consumption are fundamentally at odds with the concept of environmental sustainability. We believe climate change can only be addressed by exposing the intersections between the oppression of humans and the earth. Climate change is a result of the injustices inherent in a capitalist, racist, and patriarchal society; we must respond to these disasters in ways that do not continue that oppression.

Oregon fair trade campaign
The Oregon Fair Trade Campaign is a statewide grassroots coalition of labor, environmental and human rights organizations working together to fight the expansion of corporate globalization through NAFTA-style free trade agreements, and promote a positive vision for international trade policy that: prioritizes quality jobs in communities across the state: creates markets for Oregon products and raises the standard of living in trade partner countries; enforces strong and consistent standards for labor, the environment and human rights across borders; and allows our producers to compete on a level playing field.

hope - heal our planet earth
HOPE is a SW Portland eco-faith group committed to building relationships, educating ourselves and others, and taking action for climate, social and economic justice. We are members of the Climate Action Coalition and participate in their meetings and actions.
HOPE meetings are held at St. Luke Lutheran Church at 6835 SW 46th Ave. We particularly target SW Portland because we want to build a local community of activists who can support, encourage one another and join together for action, but all are welcome. Many of us come from a faith or a spiritual perspective but our goal is to be inclusive of everyone. Meetings have time for prayer, song, relationship building, education, discussion and planning for actions.
Join our email list for information on upcoming meeting, events s and actions happening in Portland, OR and Washington. We are working toward a fossil free future and have participated in and supported opposition to Pembina, Shell's Arctic drilling, the LNG pipeline and terminals, and oil and gas trains.

seen - sustainable energy & economy network
Since 1996, the Sustainable Energy and Economy Network (SEEN) has worked to end the fossil fuel ago and to usher in the age of clean energy and a sustainable economy for generations to come.
As a project of the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, DC, our initial focus was on shifting international financial institutions away from support for fossil fuels and toward investments in clean, renewable energy.
After 17 years of research, advocacy and activism by our members, staff, and partners, the following countries have agreed to end their public financial support ofr coal-fired power: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the United Kingdom, and the U.S. The following publicly held banks have agreed too limit their investments in coal-fired power: The World Bank, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development, and the U.S. Export-Import Bank.
In 2013, we became a project of Center for Sustainable Economy. SEEN is now building a strong network of activists committed to ending all new fossil fuel export infrastructure, with the goal of upholding the scientific call to keep over 80 percent of proven fossil fuel reserves in the ground.
Jon our e-mail network! We will send you regular updates and you will help us reach out to elected officials as well as amplify our collective voice in social and paid media.

blue mountain biodiversity project
The Blue Mountains Biodiversity Project has been working to protect and restore the ecosystems of the Blue Mountains and Eastern Oregon Cascades since 1991. We work to stop or modify projects that threaten ecological diversity and integrity such as logging, road building, livestock grazing, herbicide and biocide use, and mining. Our work area includes the Malheur, Ochoco, Umatilla, and Deschutes National Forests. We prioritize the protection of old growth, sensitive and listed species, water quality, roadless areas, and areas vital to ecological processes. We also provide ways to become more involved in environmental change work via our summer volunteer internship program and other volunteer opportunities. Our work is important for the conservation of numerous species, including salmon, wolves, lynx, rare woodpeckers, Pacific fishers, marten, and wolverine.
